10 Minutes {3/2/15}

I have been thinking a lot about blogging about my thoughts and things that help me to be a better person. Thoughts that strengthen me, change me, and help me to get through the struggles of life. I've had lots of thoughts on a number of topics, and have wanted to share them, but I haven't known how to accomplish it, or where. I finally realized how I can do it. The 10 Minute Challenge. It at least that is what I'm going to call it. I really can't commit a lot of time to anything, because my children don't wait for me to finish my to-do list. But I think if I give each task 10 minutes, I will be able to be successful. Here are the things I'm going to do everyday:

- Study my scriptures for 10 minutes
- Pray for 10 minutes (time to speak, and time to listen)
- Blog for ten minutes. Whether it is family pictures, spiritual thoughts, things I've leaned or are going through, or sewing stuff. I want to blog/journal everyday.
-Exercise. I found a pilates video that has 10 min routines. I haven't exercised in a long time, because I've been deterred by the hour long workouts. So this will be a lot easier to do! I've never done pilates before, so hopefully I like it. :)

That's it for now. But I think that's a good number of items to start with, and covers the essentials.

To start, today I read 1 Nephi 9:1-10:9. I thought it was interesting that that's what I read, because in chapter 9 Nephi talks about how he is going to make a separate record of the ministry of his people. That he didn't know the purpose of it, but the Lord did (vs 3). Also, that the Lord knows all things and has all power to fulfill all of His words (vs 6). There are no coincidences. :) I have not known how I would accomplish blogging the thoughts I've had, but today I had this 10 minute idea, and the scriptures confirmed to me the impressions I've been having to do so, that they are what I need to do. :)

I also liked in 1 Nephi 10:6, how it points out that we must rely on the Redeemer. Today it made me realize that when there is a task that we don't know how to accomplish, maybe due to our current circumstances, that we should rely on the Lord to show us HOW to accomplish it. And as it said in 9:6, that He does prepare the way for us... When we rely on Him. :)
