Dear Hunter & Jackson

There are so many things you guys have been doing lately, much of which you are partners in crime, so I'll just make this letter together. Hopefully I can remember everything. :)

3/1/11: I couldn't sleep last night, and was up for a couple of hours until I could fall back asleep. So this morning we turned on the tv for Hunter so I could try and catch some extra z's. Well, I heard him jumping on the bed in his room where Jackson was supposed to be sleeping, but when I went in there to get him out, Jackson had an open tube of destine, rubbing destine all over the front of his crib, and he and Hunter were covered in it...

Later that morning we went for a walk down to Hancock Fabric to pick up some thread, which they didn't have. Jacks was in the stroller and Hunter walked. He had to walk across every lawn, but did super good avoiding the muddy spots. :) On the way back he stopped in someone's driveway and started doing this really cute dance and song routine. I don't know where he got it from, but it was super cute. I was kind of paranoid about him going up to their house, so I cut it short, but it was still cute. His singing got Jackson started and he ended up singing the rest of the way home. What was super cute was when Hunter sat down on the grass of someone's house, folded his arms and said, "Resting". Funny boy. We proceeded to the church and they ran around and played for a while, then we went home. So fun. :)

3/2/11: Today Hunter snuck downstairs, grabbed the bag of chocolate cinnamon bears, and ate them in the crib with Jackson. Oh my. When I told Neil about it, he gave Hunter a high five.

3/6/11: We were all laying on the bed today and Hunter turned to me and said, "Mom, I love you." It melted my heart. I was kind of having a hard day, and it was the sweetest thing anyone could have done! Then he told me again. "I love you too." :) (Neil's been waiting for him to tell him that for a while now. Ah ha! He told me first. J/k!) :) He tells us he loves us sometimes when we tell him first, but that is the first time he's done it out of the blue like that.

4/18/11: When Hunter was little we used to call him a "Cheerio whore" because he would eat them like no other and hog them all for himself. It was pretty funny. Tonight Neil bought some giant Swirly Gummy Bears by Black Forest. All the boys were chowing down on them and then Neil noticed that Jackson had a mouth full plus some in his hand. Neil's response, "Jackson, you're a gummy bear whore." Then Hunter speaks up, "I'm a gummy bear whore TOO!!!" as he raised his hands to cheer. I was dying. It was too funny!

There have been too many funny things going on that I haven't been recording. Let's see what I can remember.

Also from today, I had a doctors appointment, and Neil's boss said I could just drop the kids off with him so he wouldn't have to take off work. When I came back I was waiting for them to come out and as I was talking to Neil on the phone he lost Jackson in the elevator. I called him back a couple of minutes later to see if he wanted me to come help him look for him. Apparently Jackson got off the elevator in the basement and Neil was running around from floor to floor carrying Hunter looking for him. I was laughing on the phone, which Neil responded, "This is NOT funny!" lol. Yes it is. When they finally came out one of the guys that works for Neil, Justin, found him in the basement calling out for "Dad" all wide eyed. He asked Jackson, "Where's your dad?" Which Jackson just shrugged to. Cute boy. I guess he was pretty worried. It was a pretty funny story! :) Then in the car for about 5 minutes Hunter kept telling me about it, "Jackson lost in the elevator. Where'd he go? (he'd shrug his shoulders and then he'd laugh) Funny." He'd keep doing it over and over. He enjoyed it too. :) I'm glad they had a chance to go hang out with Dad at work. I'm a little jealous. They all had a good time! :)

Jackson is getting so big! Lately one thing he does all the time is after doing something (throwing or kicking a ball, or tackling some other feat) he'll raise his arms up and shake them (cheering) and say, "Did it." :)

He also tells me sometimes when he's going somewhere, "Back" as in "I'll be back." Also what's super cute, when people leave he'll yell after them, "Come back!!!" It's pretty cute.

We also are now on day 3 of him being binky free!! Yippy! :) It was actually pretty easy and he's doing really good! We're hoping that getting him off them before Mabel comes will mean that he won't take hers, and it won't take forever to get him off them later.

Hunter is also super funny! He is talking so much more. His vocabulary is growing every day and he is constantly repeating words that he hears. He also loves to sing and it's really cute! He's pretty animated. He's also growing a lot. He is officially out of his 2T clothes, and is wearing some 4T clothes already! He also might have asthma. He had a couple of times where we were outside in the morning when it was still pretty cold, and when we'd come inside he'd have huge coughing fits that would last forever. The doctor gave us some medicine to try on him to try to figure out if it was asthma. I tried for a while to trigger his cough, but I couldn't really tell that it made much of a difference. Lately however, when he's been running around a lot he starts coughing and wheezing. I've given him the medicine and it seems to be working. I'm a little bummed... too bad if he has it. Maybe it will go away? I don't know if it works like that.

4/21/11 - This morning we were watching Super Why! and at the end they were talking about what they might grow up to be. Then they asked the watcher what they'll grow up to be. I turned to Hunter and asked him, "What are you going to grow up to be?" He thought for a minute a said, "Tall!" "You're going to grow up to be tall?" "Yeah!" "Awesome". He's so funny. :)

4/23/11 - Yesterday Hunter was playing at Grandma's house and when I went to go get him he didn't want to leave. I told him, "Dad might make some popcorn." His response, "Popcorn?! AWESOME!!" and he ran out the door. He's too funny. He always loves popcorn and asks to eat it everyday!

A few weeks ago he started sleeping with a pillow. It's pretty cute. He's getting to be such a big boy!

Jackson can also say a lot of things now! Up, out, open, (they all sound kind of the same, but I always can tell what he's asking), did it (this is super cute - whenever he does something himself he'll say this and raise his hands to cheer), back (when he wants something back), come back, sorry, thank you, hat - which he LOVES to wear hats and will put anything and EVERYTHING on his head to wear as a hat! ball - also another favorite thing of his, water, milk, banana, eat, and more. He's a very cute boy and has so many expressions. He scowls a lot and it makes us laugh. He also laughs a lot! He gets REALLY excited when he sees that we are going to give him something yummy or good that he likes. Tonight I laid out his blanket on the floor for him to lay/sit on right after I had laid Hunters out and he got SO excited! He loved the idea of having his blanket spread out that he just started giggling and laughing. He also loves to watch movies and can climb up on our dresser and reach the dvd player and eject the movie. He's a crazy climber and can climb everything! He's also a little chunker. We just got out some 2T clothes for him and the pants are already tight around his belly. It's kind of cute. :) He likes to eat a lot.

Hunter also talks a TON and can say everything and says cute phrases all the time that make us laugh. He said something the other day that I was dying at it was so funny, maybe Neil will remember what it was. He also has a lot of expression in his comments as well - which really add so much. Too cute. He also is getting quite the imagination! The other day they were playing in their tent and he started pretending that it was an ice cream stand and would hand me different ice cream flavors out the window. And of course Jackson joined him and started doing the same. He also has cute conversations on our old cell phones that they play with. Sometimes he'll sit there and laugh like the other person said something funny. It makes me laugh. He also plays fun games with his trains and other toys. The other day he was sitting on his car and was "revving the engine" for a while - he had awesome sound effects. Then he stopped and said the batteries died. So he wen into the kitchen and got some more batteries from his imaginary drawer, went back to the car and put them in, got back on, revved the engine and zoomed off! Too cute. :)

I remember what was so funny. Last night the boys were playing with their easter baskets and were putting them on their heads as hats. They were really cute. Then Hunter started doing this crazy dance! I've never seen him dance like that before, it was so funny. He was lifting his legs up so high and going in circles. I wish I had it on video, it was the best. He does things like that all the time - just random funniness. :)

Hunter has stopped eating... well, he's starting too again kind of, but for a while he didn't finish his breakfast, or eat much lunch, or eat any dinner. It was crazy. But he's getting better finally. Tonight he even had seconds! Wow! ;) I think he's also having a hard time knowing that things are going to be changing with a new baby coming. Whenever I ask him if he's excited for Mabel to come, or to be a big brother again, or have another baby, he gets really upset and says no way. We're trying to spend more time with him, and have more one-on-one time with him, and it might be helping. Neil's been taking him with him to run errands or go to the store, or whatever which I think he really loves. It's also been hard that I've been on bed rest and we haven't been able to get out, except for when Jackson's asleep, but then we still have to stay right in front of our house and I can't really do much with him. At least it's something. But I think it's been hard, on all of us. I sure love them both and hope that we can still meet their needs with Mabel coming. Especially with them being so young.
